These gorgeous purple poppies put on a spectacular display, with large, silky petals in the most beautiful shades of rich plum, magenta and violet. Their delicate, crinkled petals catch the light beautifully, while the intricate centre makes each flower something special.
And the beauty doesn't stop when the petals fall. The seed heads develop into beautiful, sculptural pods that can be dried and used in flower arrangements, adding texture and interest long after the flowers have finished blooming.
I love watching theses emerge from their little buds and then suddenly burst open into these incredible flowers, and its not just me who loves them - the bees are also regular visitors, happily buzzing from bloom to bloom.
They're a beautiful reminder of just how much can come from a tiny seed.
